Ahmad ibn Muhammad from Ali ibn Al-Hakam from Abu Al-Walid Hafs ibn Salim who said:
I asked Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: “When the Mu'adhdhin says ‘Qad qamati al-salah’ (The prayer has been established), should the people stand on their feet or should they remain seated until their Imam (of prayer) comes?” Imam عليه السلام said: "No, rather they should stand on their feet. If their Imam (of prayer) comes, they pray with him. And if he does not come, then a man from among the people should be taken by the hand and brought forward (to lead the prayer)."
