Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya from Al-‘Amraki from Ali ibn Ja'far from his brother (Imam) Musa عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
I asked Him عليه السلام about a man who recites in an obligatory prayer the ‘Opening of the Book’ (Surah Al-Fatiha) and another Surah in one breath. Imam عليه السلام said: "If he wishes, he may recite them in one breath, and if he wishes, he may recite them in separate breaths."
