Muhammad ibn Ya‘qub from Ali ibn Ibrahim from his father from Ibn Abi Umayr from Hammad ibn Uthman from al-Halabi: Abu Abdillah عليه السلام said: “When you begin the prayer, raise your hands, then spread them open fully, then say Takbir three times, then say: ‘O Allah سبحانه وتعالى, You are the True King. There is no god but You عز وجل. Glory be to You عز وجل. Indeed, I have wronged myself, so forgive me my sin. Surely, no one forgives sins except You عز وجل.’ Then say Takbir two times, then say: ‘Here I am, at Your عز وجل service, and all goodness is in Your عز وجل hands, and evil is not attributed to You عز وجل. The rightly guided is he whom You عز وجل guide. There is no refuge from You عز وجل except in You عز وجل. Glory be to You عز وجل and to Your عز وجل mercy. You عز وجل are Blessed and Exalted. Glory be to You عز وجل, Lord عز وجل of the House.’ Then say Takbir two times, then say: ‘I have turned my face to the One عز وجل who created the heavens and the earth,’ the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, in pure devotion, submitting (to Him عز وجل), ‘and I am not of the polytheists.’ Then seek refuge with Allah سبحانه وتعالى from the accursed Shaytan, then recite the Opening Chapter of the Book (Surah al-Fatiha).”
