And from him, from Hammad ibn Isa, from Hariz ibn Abdillah, from Zurarah, from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said: I asked Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام about a group whose imam (of prayer) led them in prayer while he was not in a state of purity does their prayer remain valid, or must they repeat it? Imam عليه السلام said: “There is no repetition upon them; their prayer is complete. But he (prayer leader) must repeat it himself, and he is not required to inform them. This is established from him.”
