Chapter on the Prayer of the Two Eids

Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya from al-Hasan ibn Musa al-Khashshab from Ghiyath ibn Kallub from Ishaq ibn Ammar from Imam Ja’far عليه السلام from his father عليه السلام, peace be upon them: Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام said: “Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib عليه السلام, peace be upon him, used to say: ‘When two Eids coincide for the people on the same day, it is appropriate for the Imam to say in his first sermon: ‘Two Eids have come together for you today, so I will pray them both together. Whoever's dwelling is far and wishes to leave after one of them, I have granted him permission to do so.’”
