Ali ibn al-Husayn, from Ahmad ibn Idris, from Muhammad ibn Salim, from Ahmad ibn al-Nadr, from Amr ibn Shimr, from Jabir, said:
I said to Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him: “If I am present for the funeral prayer at the time of an obligatory prayer, which one should I begin with?” Imam عليه السلام said: “Hasten the deceased to his grave, unless you fear that the time for the obligatory prayer will pass. And do not delay the prayer over the deceased until the rising of the sun or its setting.” (meaning to hasten to bury the deceased, as possible)
