Abu Ali al-Ash'ari, from Muhammad ibn Abd al-Jabbar, from Safwan ibn Yahya, from al-Ala, from Muhammad ibn Muslim, from one of the two Imams عليه السلام, peace be upon them, said:
I asked Imam عليه السلام about (Salat Al Mayyit) men and women (together), how is the funeral prayer performed over them? Imam عليه السلام said: “The man is placed in front of the women, in the position closest to the imam (of prayer), and they are lined up, one following another.”
