Chapter on the Prayer over the Dead

From him, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa from al-Abbas ibn Ma'ruf from Talhah ibn Zayd: Imam al-Sadiq عليه السلام said: “The funeral prayer is not performed over a limb of a man, whether a leg, or a hand, or a head, when it is separate (from the body). But if the body is present, then pray over it, even if it is missing the head, the hand, and the leg.” (meaning the body containing the heart)
