Tahdhīb al-Aḥkām|Volume 4|Book 1|Chapter 29
As for what Muhammad ibn Yaqub narrated from Ali ibn Ibrahim, from his father, from Ismail ibn Marrar, from Yunus, from Ishaq ibn Ammar, from Abu Ibrahim عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
I (narrator) said to Imam عليه السلام: “One hundred and ninety dirhams and nineteen dinars, is there anything upon them in Zakat?” Imam عليه السلام said: “When gold and silver are gathered together and that reaches two hundred dirhams, then Zakat is due in them, because the substance of wealth is dirhams, and everything besides dirhams, whether gold or goods, is merchandise (arad) returned to dirhams in Zakat and blood-money.”
