Sa’ad ibn Abdillah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from al-Husayn ibn Said, from Yusuf ibn Aqil, from Muhammad ibn Qays, from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
Imam عليه السلام said: “The Commander of the Faithful عليه السلام, peace be upon him, used to say: ‘Whoever fasts and then forgets, so he eats and drinks, then he does not break his fast because he forgot. Rather, it is only sustenance which Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Mighty and Majestic, has provided for him, so let him complete his fast.’”
