Sa’ad ibn Abdillah, from Abu Jafar, from Ayyub ibn Nuh, from Muhammad ibn Abi Umayr, from Hisham ibn Salim, who said:
I (narrator) said to Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him: “A man had intercourse with his wife while he was making up the month of Ramadan.” Imam عليه السلام said: “If he had intercourse with her before the afternoon prayer, then there is nothing upon him; he fasts a day in place of a day. And if he did so after the afternoon prayer, he fasts that day and feeds ten poor persons. If he is not able to do so, he fasts three days as an expiation for that.”
