Chapter on Making Up the Month of Ramadan, and the Ruling of One Who Breaks the Fast in It Intentionally and Forgetfully, and One upon Whom Fasting Two Consecutive Months Is Obligatory and He Breaks the Fast during Them, or upon Whom There Is a Vow Regarding Fasting

As for what Ali ibn al-Hasan ibn Faddal narrated, from Harun ibn Muslim and Sadan, from Masadah ibn Sadaqah, from Abu Abdillah Imam Ja’far عليه السلام from his father, Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام, peace be upon them both: Imams عليه السلام said: “Imam Ali عليه السلام, peace be upon him, said: ‘The one fasting voluntarily has the choice between himself and midday. Then when the day reaches its middle, the fast has become obligatory.’”
