Ali ibn al-Hasan, from Muhammad ibn Ali, from al-Hasan ibn Mahbub, from Ali ibn Riab, from Zurarah, who said:
I (narrator) asked Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, about ‘the one observing seclusion for worship (al-mutakif) having intercourse with his wife.’ Imam عليه السلام said: “If he does that, then upon him is what is upon the one who performs zihar (al-muzahir).” – meaning expiation.
