Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Mahbub, from Ibrahim, from Ismail ibn Marar, from Yunus, from Habib, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him:
Imam عليه السلام said: “Testimony for the sighting of the crescent is not permissible with fewer than fifty men, the number of the collective oath (qasamah). The testimony of two men is only permissible if they are from outside the city (misr), and there is an obstruction (illah) in the city, so they inform that they saw the moon and inform about a people who fasted due to the sighting.”
