Ahmad ibn al-Hasan, from Amr ibn Saeed, from Musaddiq ibn Sadaqah, from Ammar, from Abu Abdillah عليه السلام, peace be upon him, who said:
I (narrator) asked Imam عليه السلام about ‘a man upon whom there are days from the month of Ramadan: how should he make them up?’ Imam عليه السلام said: “If there are two days (of qada fasts) upon him, then let him break the fast between them for one day. And if there are five days (of qada fasts) upon him, then let him break the fast between them for two days. And if there is a month (of qada fasts) upon him, then let him break the fast between them for some days. And he does not have the right to fast more than eight days (of qada fasts), meaning consecutively. So if there are eight days or ten days (of qada fasts) upon him, he breaks the fast between them for one day.”
