The Signs of the Mahdī’s Reappearance

Saʿd b. ʿAbd Allāh, from Muḥammad b. ʿĪsā b. ʿUbayd, from Muḥammad b. al-Fuḍayl from Abī Ḥamza, from Abī Jaʿfar عليه السلام, who said: “Allāh تبارك وتعالى sent Muḥammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم as an Apostle to mankind and the jinn, and appointed after him twelve Legatees. Among them are those who have passed on and those who remain, and upon every Legatee from among the Legatees who are after Muḥammad صلى الله عليه وعلى آله applies a precedent of the Legatees of ʿĪsā عليه السلام, who were also twelve in number. Amīr al-Muʾminīn عليه السلام was upon the precedent of the Messiah.”
