Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr, from al-Ala ibn Razin, from Muhammad ibn Muslim, from Abu Ja’far عليه السلام, peace be upon him, said:
I asked Imam al-Baqir عليه السلام: “How is the funeral prayer performed over men and women?” (meaning the congregation) Imam عليه السلام said: “The men are placed in the front where the men stand, and the women are placed behind the men.”
