Muhammad ibn al-Hasan al-Saffar, from al-Qasim ibn Abi al-Qasim al-Sayqal, who said:
He (narrator) wrote to Imam عليه السلام: “O my master, a man vowed to fast every Friday, continuously, for as long as he remains, then that day coincided with the day of Eid al-Fitr, or Eid al-Adha, or the days of al-Tashriq, or he travelled, or he became ill. Is the fasting of that day upon him, or making it up, or what should he do, O my master?” Imam عليه السلام wrote to him: “Allah سبحانه وتعالى has removed fasting from you in all of these days, and you fast one day in place of a day, if Allah سبحانه وتعالى, Exalted is He سبحانه وتعالى, wills.”
